I feel very strongly that an artist should show his/her work on a regular basis. That is, if the work is new and fresh. Only then is the community able to see what an artist is working on and what direction and path the work travels.

Hello,
Please come by Studio UFO on Friday Sept 3, 7-10pm to hear the fabulous Tom Harding along with the rest of the fabulous band called Fever Creek. Piper Mertle, Margen Riley and Thom Dykas!!! Here is a shot of them as they really wowed the audience of the Northwest Washington Fair this August. I think that they sing the best Cowboy French around these parts. Don’t forget, I will be making space to dance so bring your dancing shoes.

Peace,
Trish

Calling all skaters! Converge on Studio UFO (301 W. Holly St M-4) during Artwalk Friday July 2, at precisely 7pm for Bellingham’s first SKATE-IN! Music and Refreshments. Costumes welcome!
Studio UFO owner Trish Harding will showcase Shred’s latest work, a mixture of rideable sea creatures, insects and birds. Presentation of a locally-filmed video, a “skateboard rotisserie,” demonstration of Motowakus, the motorized frog-skateboard and a skate-in by local skateboarders are planned.

Self-taught Shred carves with native-style tools and techniques. After some success carving masks, interest in transformation masks and visual puns sent him in a more kinetic direction. “Make it roll—that’s my goal,” says Shred. “If people don’t start buying these things, I’m going to throw myself out the window. Fortunately, I live in the basement.”

At Trish Harding School of Art at Studio UFO’s Open Studio Jimie has been working on establishing a freer style in her local scenery watercolors. Her strokes are individual and direct and present a nice contrast with the moving washes and her color is clean and exciting. My favorite is the boats at LaConner. She will be showing at Red Berry on RR Ave through the month of July. Please stop by to see her show, have a fabulous frozen yogurt with your favorite toppings and tell Red Berry that we appreciate them showing local, original, organic art in Bellingham!
All paintings are for sale. If you are interested in purchasing one of her paintings you can email me and I will get you in contact with the artist.
Congratulations, Jimie! Your show is lively and beautiful.
