Now that PAPO (3rd Annual Downtown Bellingham Plein Air Paint Out) has come and gone it is time to set our sights on The WOODSTOCK FARM ART SHOW happening the weekend of Sept 13th & 14th from noon to 6pm both days.  You won’t want to miss this event when “your new park, Woodstock Farm, is formally open to its public with a spectacular art show in the main house”.  This art show features regional artists who have used Woodstock Farm as inspiration for their work.

The artists include painters, sculptors and photographers who have already contributed significantly in our community.

There will be bus shuttle service back & forth from Fairhaven Middle School, Fairhaven Park & the Trail Head or you can bike or walk to the site.

We really lucked out with beautiful weather for PAPO this year.  I hope eveyone had a great time and do look forward to next year for PAPO 09 at which time BTV10 will air our video spot starting in June 2009.

Do you think that Nancy was havin’ some fun at last year’s PAPO?  I do! 

 We need more plein air painters on Saturday to meet our goal of 100!  Meet at Studio UFO, 301 W Holly Street, Suite M-4 on Saturday between 9:30am-9:45am to meet the other artists, recieve instructions and then go out and paint at a site of your choice around or near the Holly Street corridor.  There is no sign in so if you do not want to meet at the studio and would rather just go to your site, please do!  I will try to get around to everyone during the course of the day to welcome you.  We also will have a professional video company to shoot video to be put on YouTube to promote the art Exhibit in November AND to air on BTV10 to advertise next year’s 4th Annual PAPO.  If you do not want to be filmed please let the camera man know. 

Don’t forget to drink water, stay out of intense sun and try to buddy up with another painter who can watch your equipment if you need to leave your site to use a restroom or pick up a lunch, etc.

Please don’t block businesses and try to buy a coffee or donut or something if you use a businesses restroom.

Have a wonderful time and we look forward to seeing some very incredible artwork at the show in November.  Watch this website for the Exhibit information as it approaches.

The People’s Painting

Everyone is welcome to paint on the People’s Painting!

 Join with other adult members of the community exercising their freedom of speech to add your strokes to a large canvas outside Studio UFO. Directions:1.       Use only Oil Paint Sticks provided.2.       Use baby wipes provided to clean oil paint from your hands…please use trash can by the mailboxes.3.       Voice your opinion, insight & vision with strokes, dates, numbers, images or allegory.4.       Fill out and Sign the signature sheet.5.       The painting’s progression will be documented regularly by photograph.6.       The signature sheet will accompany the final painting and the photographs for display.
