This weekend I am heading to Menucha near Portland to teach beginning and intermediate oil painting for Creative Arts Community. I will be back in town on August 8th.  This will be my 7th year and I cannot imagine ever NOT going. It is a week long, in residence art camp for adults. You should go next year! It has changed my life. The photo is my pastel class last year.

FAMILY, 36×12″ oil painting for the Burned Children Recovery Foundation Auction,  Ryan Stiles Golf Classic this weekend.   We got to see the show, Ryan Stiles and Friends at the Mt. Baker last night and it was hilarious.  Proceeds go directly to the Foundation.

Your tax-deductible donation provides support for burned children and their families.  For more information about the program, please call (800) 799-BURN or email bcrf@whidbey.net.

NUDE Figure Painting Workshop,

Trish Harding instructor

·        Use the medium of your choice

·        Paint from a Nude Model

·        Rare Opportunity to paint one pose all day from a model giving time to complete a painting from life

·        Spirited constructive critiques

·        1 hour lunch break; brown bag or eat out!

 One-5 hour session, Saturday 7/10, 10am-3pm, $72

Minimum $2tip for the model at the time of the workshop

I have many years experience drawing and painting the human figure both nude and clothed.  I find that learning and practicing figure drawing requires a short pose (usually 20 minutes), but if you are interested in painting from life a longer pose is necessary.  If your focus is to be a more responsive painter of the figure (and to wean yourself off from being photo-bound) please join me at Studio UFO for this all day, one pose nude figure-painting workshop.  You will be glad you did!

All skill levels are welcome from beginner to professional.  Be a part of the local, original, organic creative energy that permeates Studio UFO.

If you can paint the figure, you can paint anything!

Calling all skaters! Converge on Studio UFO (301 W. Holly St M-4) during Artwalk Friday July 2, at precisely 7pm for Bellingham’s first SKATE-IN! Music and Refreshments. Costumes welcome!

Contact: Doug McKeenatyshred@gmail.com  360-758-2334

Studio UFO owner Trish Harding will showcase Shred’s latest work, a mixture of rideable sea creatures, insects and birds. Presentation of a locally-filmed video, a “skateboard rotisserie,” demonstration of Motowakus, the motorized frog-skateboard and a skate-in by local skateboarders are planned.

Self-taught Shred carves with native-style tools and techniques. After some success carving masks, interest in transformation masks and visual puns sent him in a more kinetic direction. “Make it roll—that’s my goal,” says Shred. “If people don’t start buying these things, I’m going to throw myself out the window. Fortunately, I live in the basement.”
